Ergonomics Plus is a mission-driven company. We’re dedicated to providing the best human performance services in the world. That being the case, everything we do must be guided by a set of abiding values that form the foundation of who we are as a company. These are the ten guiding principles we know to be true.
#1. Prevention is better than treatment.
When given the choice, no reasonable person would ever choose painful surgery or prescription medications over not having to experience a physically and emotionally devastating injury in the first place. Every effort must be made to prevent this painful experience for workers. Creating and sustaining a prevention-focused mindset builds a culture that doesn’t accept injuries as a necessary cost of doing business. Think prevention.
#2. Helping people is always the right thing to do.
Sure, prevention is good for business. But there is a deeper meaning behind true excellence in safety and health. The simple truth is that helping people is always the right thing to do. Having a genuine concern and caring attitude for people will pay you back many times over. When it comes to worker health, business is intimately personal. Recognizing this truth and taking responsibility for it is the first step toward a safety and wellness culture worth having.
#3. It’s best to do one thing extremely well.
We provide on-site services that prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and enhance human performance. Our service offering is built on over two decades of providing services and thousands of hours on the shop floor developing a world class methodology. We deploy and maintain our process through an on-site injury prevention specialist that makes weekly visits to client facilities. That’s it. That’s all we do. We don’t do “flash in the pan” training sessions. We don’t do one-time projects. We engage in deep partnerships with our clients and make weekly visits to ensure the success of the prevention process and build a long-lasting culture of safety and wellness. That’s all we do, and we do it extremely well.
#4. Weekly dedication produces long term results.
Getting health and safety results is a long-term issue. Focusing on prevention today will improve returns tomorrow and on down the road. Lasting success will be won by having an ongoing dedication to the MSD prevention and ergonomics process. We make weekly visits to client facilities to spend time out where the people are, the shop floor, because that’s where the real work gets done. Our hands-on approach and dedication to prevention every single week is the key to lasting excellence in safety and health.
#5. Passion for our work (helping people) is directly tied to our success in the marketplace.
We’re in the fortunate position of spending our days helping people. We believe protecting and promoting the well-being of people is a noble calling filled with enough meaning to inspire a lifetime’s dedication. For people who have a sincere passion for their work, there is no going back. Our passion for helping people inspires us to master our craft and build a remarkable company.
#6. Excellence, not merely compliance, is the best way to do business.
It is good to be compliant with regulations. It’s the responsible and right thing to do. But it isn’t the best way to do business. The best way to do business is to achieve excellence. After all, the marketplace is an intense competition like no other. The reality of today’s marketplace is that excellence is mandatory. It’s a minimum requirement for survival. This applies to every aspect of your business, from production to quality to safety and health. It’s often said that how you do one thing is how you do everything. We’re here to help you achieve health and safety excellence so you can achieve your overall business goals.
#7. Successful partnerships are built on trust and open communication.
All great relationships are built on trust and open lines of communication. We know that in order to have a long-last relationship with you, we must prove our value to you and your company every month. We default to over-communication to make sure you’re absolutely thrilled with our services and you know precisely what the plan is for continuous improvement. We aim to engage in long-lasting relationships with our clients to build a world-class health and safety process. Ultimately this is best for you and for us, the sign of a successful partnership.
#8. Every business is unique and should be treated as such.
Your business is unique. You have unique challenges and unique improvement opportunities. By definition, your company culture is unique. Because of this fact, you deserve to be treated as such with services and solutions tailored specifically for you. Fundamental principles of prevention will not change, but each Ergonomics Plus client gets a customized version of our prevention process that meets their particular needs.
#9. Always under-promise and over-deliver.
Our clients deserve to get results from our services … and then some. As Jim Rohn once said, “Let people be surprised that it was more than you said and easier than you promised.” That’s our goal. We must always under-promise and over-deliver. We report results monthly and conduct an annual audit of the entire process to hold ourselves accountable to this. Our business strategy is simple: exceed our client’s expectations and all else will follow.
#10. People are our best and most important asset.
Our service offering is only as successful as the people behind it. That is why we’re dedicated to providing an unprecedented opportunity for career and personal growth for members of the Ergonomics Plus family. Our team members are passionate about helping people. Our team members are positive, hard-working and consistently exceed our client’s expectations. We would be nothing without the awesome folks who fly under the Ergonomics Plus flag. Any decision we make should be based on what is best for our people.
