Like many other businesses, Ergonomics Plus was founded out of a frustration with the status quo.

Ergonomics Plus was founded in 1989 by Mark Middlesworth. At the time, Mark was working at an outpatient rehabilitation facility as an athletic trainer. Dissatisfied with returning injured employees back to work only to see them back in rehab a short while later, Mark decided to break pattern and visit a local manufacturing facility.

It was there that Mark discovered his life’s work – the injuries he was helping people recover from were preventable. It was time to move out of the rehab business and into the prevention business.

Mark found that his Athletic Training background was a tremendous asset in the industrial setting. His knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of the human body brought something to the table that was previously missing.

Over a period of time, his weekly visits to the front lines began to produce results. Workers were experiencing less fatigue and discomfort. The company was experiencing cost savings and seeing a positive ROI on Mark’s services.  He was on to something.

From that point forward, he and the injury prevention specialists of Ergonomics Plus have been using their knowledge of ergonomics “plus” human physiology to prevent injuries in the workplace.

Over 20 years later Mark still makes regular visits to his very first client – an example of ongoing dedication producing long term results.
