Operational excellence can only exist when it is defined and measured. So to achieve excellence in ergonomics, you will need to define smart metrics and track them every step of the way.

Ergonomics Metrics

The ergonomics metrics you track should correspond to each element of the ergonomics process. You need to know how effective you and your team are at each element, and whether or not you’re meeting the goals you set out in the Establish phase.

Assess Risk

• % of jobs assessed for risk compared to goal
• % of jobs at low risk compared to goal
• % of high, medium, low, unknown risk jobs
• breakdown of high risk jobs by department

Plan Improvements

• % of high risk tasks with improvement plans

Execute Improvements

• % of high risk jobs with solutions implemented
